BUILDING DESCRIPTION\

THE MUSEU GALILEO- ISTITUTO E MUSEO DI STORIA DELLA SCIENZA

The Galileo museum in Florence, Italy. There is one of the most important collection of scientific instruments and experimental equipment is housed, some inventions are related to physics element, for example the movement science. Some of the important invents of the century are presented with captions, shown down. And not least important, the relevant contributions in cartography.
Science gallery
The museum possesses an amount in which are the interesting inventions, several of them referred to the cartography, the science of the navigation, the physic branches, the astronomy; to mention just few examples. The astrolabe, a useful tool in the navigation; is shown in the navigation study; the military instruments are in the war gallery, that I not mentioned, but that had measure and scale functions of natural events, in other words, it was used in a bellicose method.
Inventions
In other sections, the tools, and measure objects, are showed in with a brief description; but the more one conspicuous monument to the terraqueous globes placed in the center of the gallery. The sphere represents the "universal machine" of the world according to the concepts developed by Aristotle and perfected by Ptolemy. The wooden parts of the sphere are elaborately painted and covered with fine gold leaf. Another impressive item is called the polyhedral Dial that is an Instrument in the shape of a regular dodecahedron, finely decorated with brilliant colors. Each face of the polyhedron is engraved with a different type of sundial (scapha - vertical - inclined) complete with gnomon. The hollow space on the top was a housing for a magnetic compass (now missing) to orient the instrument toward the local magnetic meridian. One face of the polyhedron also bears the Medici coat of arms.
Conclusion
The Galileo museum has a  lot of marvelous creations and powerful tool of the Mediterranean places, and I personally think, the building is good manner to kept in present all the gifts from the intellectual designers; some of them used in bellicose form unlikely, but of course, always putting one step forward to the civilization of nowadays .
